"Ioan Alexandru” Library, housed by Romanian Parish of Glasgow in the old church hall of Shettleston Old Parish, is one of the largest libraries devoted to the Romanian diaspora. It holds and provides access to over 3,000 titles from all fields (classical and modern literature, history, philosophy, religion and theology, sociology, marketing, journalism, atlases, encyclopedias, dictionaries, children’s and youth literature, and more).

The Library (named after romanian writer Ioan Alexandru) was inaugurated in 2010 as part of COMEUROBIB project initiated by the Library „Petre Dulfu” of Baia Mare (Romania), in the partnership with Foundation Asturian from Târgu Mureș, „Românca” Society and the Cultural League for the Unity of Worldwide Romanians, with the support of Council of Maramureș.
